Health, Safety & Environmental Protection
Statutes-Compliant Corporate Policy: Protecting Lives, Securing Workspaces, and Targeting Zero Fatality Operations
Statutory Safety Standards
At Cleocy Nigeria Limited, our foremost interest in each project is HEALTH, SAFETY, and ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. We demonstrate safety in all our operations and do our utmost to ensure a secure working environment free from risks and hazards.
We are conversant and strictly comply with the current requirements of the Mineral Oils Act, the Mineral Oils (Safety) Requirements, the Factories Act, and our Clients' Safety Rules/Standards as stated in standard specifications under Part XII (SAFETY).
"Cleocy Nigeria Limited always strives to achieve zero accidents, zero incidents, zero fatalities, less pollution, and minimum waste. Work must be suspended when it is believed that essential safety systems are not in place."
The 11 Pillars of Safety
Environmental & Substance Boundaries
We enforce uncompromising rules protecting local ecosystems and personnel safety to achieve absolute operational integrity.
Environmental Protection Policy
It is the responsibility of each Cleocy personnel to perform work in an environmentally sound manner. Staff are encouraged to pay appropriate regard to the environment—preserving air, water, soil, plant, and animal lives.
All wastes are collected, treated, and disposed of off-site. Dumping of waste into creeks, rivers, or water bodies is strictly prohibited in our operations.
Drug, Alcohol & Search Policy
Possession, use, or sale of illegal drugs, controlled substances (prescription drugs not obtained with valid prescriptions), intoxicating beverages, or firearms is absolutely prohibited on any Company premise, watercraft, land site, or aircraft.
To enforce this policy, the Company reserves the absolute right to search and inspect any individual, vehicle, locked office drawers, or locked desks at any time, with or without notice. Denial of search is ground for immediate removal.
Post-Construction Cleanups
Our commitment to the environment does not end when machinery stops. At the conclusion of project activities, our ultimate goal is to leave the worksite in a condition as near as possible to the state in which it was found.
Dedicated Post Construction Cleanup teams are mobilized to clear all debris, isolate redundant materials, prevent ecological hazard, and protect the native order of the local habitat.
Technical Field Controls & Compliance
Verifiable safety, administrative, and medical retainer programs supporting daily offshore and onshore operational integrity.
Workmen's Compensation & Insurance
CLEOCY Nigeria Limited maintains active, comprehensive Workmen's Compensation and Accident Insurance Policies for all on-site personnel. This protects workers against injury by accident, occupational disease, or any impairment to health during contract execution.
Retainer Medical Clinics & Fitness
We maintain active medical retainership contracts with certified hospitals, clinics, and health centers. Casual, contract, and permanent staff must pass thorough diagnostic evaluations and present active Medical Certificates of Fitness prior to worksite deployment.
Physical Worksite Hazard Controls
Worksite security is kept at premium standards. Open excavation pits are isolated with sturdy physical barriers and visible safety signs ("DANGER-KEEP OUT-OPEN EXCAVATION"). Flashing warning lights are posted for night transit, and strict No Smoking zones are enforced.
Administrative Compliance Registers
Our Safety Coordinators maintain strict audited administrative databases containing certified crew records: valid Swimming Certificates (for river/barge projects), professional specialist operator licenses, medical fit-slips, and daily safety tagging data.
